Mr. Pittenger practices in the firm's Corporate Group.  He advises clients and provides formal legal opinions regarding all aspects of the Delaware General Corporation Law and the governance of Delaware corporations.  Mr. Pittenger routinely counsels corporations, directors, and board committees regarding transactions such as mergers, recapitalizations, reorganizations, asset sales, dividends, stock repurchases, charter and bylaw amendments, preferred stock designations, and dissolutions.

Mr. Pittenger's corporate litigation practice involves the representation of corporations, directors, and stockholders in fiduciary duty litigation, corporate takeover litigation, and statutory proceedings under the Delaware General Corporation Law.  Mr. Pittenger is the co-author of Corporate and Commercial Practice in the Delaware Court of Chancery, a leading treatise on Delaware corporate law and practice in the Court of Chancery, which is frequently cited by the Delaware courts.

Mr. Pittenger has been recognized by Chambers USA:  America's Leading Lawyers for Business as a leading practitioner in the area of Chancery litigation.

Mr. Pittenger has been a frequent speaker on matters of Delaware corporation law and litigation on both a regional and national level.
