Start A Life – Our Hiring Program

Potter Anderson & Corroon hires first-year associates primarily from our summer program.  To recruit candidates for the summer associate program, we conduct individual interviews of second-year students at a number of law schools in an area extending roughly from Boston to North Carolina (On-Campus Interviews), and we accept applications from students at other law schools located throughout the nation.  We also consider applications from exceptional first and third-year students.

We participate annually in a number of legal job fairs, including the Delaware Minority Job Fair, the DuPont Minority Job Fair and the National LGBT Bar Association Career Fair and Conference.

Periodically, we have a need for experienced lateral associates with excellent qualifications who can fill a particular need in one of our practice areas.  For those seeking to join the firm following a judicial clerkship, credit is given for the year of the clerkship.  More details are avilable on our NALP form

Candidates invited to visit the firm following a law school or other initial interview are reimbursed for their expenses, and applicants are notified promptly of the firm's decision after an interview at our offices in Wilmington.

Salaries and benefits for associates and summer associates compare favorably to those offered by other major firms in Wilmington and the most prestigious firms in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and other large cities.  First-year associates in 2010 currently receive a salary of $145,000, a $5,000 stipend, and reimbursement of expenses related to the Delaware bar examination.  Summer associates are compensated based on the starting salary for first-year associates.
