Potter Anderson & Corroon Represents Anheuser-Busch Board

July 17, 2008

Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP is representing the board of directors of Anheuser-Busch Companies, Inc., in connection with the proposed acquisition of the company by InBev.  Partners Michael B. Tumas and Stephen C. Norman are serving as co-counsel with Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP.

Anheuser-Busch agreed to sell itself to the Belgian brewer InBev for about $52 billion or $70 a share. A-B is the largest beer maker in America and InBev is a strong European rival. The combined company would be the largest brewer in the world and bring together name brands Budweiser and Michelob with Stella Artois, Bass and Brahma. The anticipated annual sales of more than $36 billion a year would surpass those of current market leader SABMiller of London.
