WILMINGTON, Del. – Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP is pleased to announce that Jeremy W. Ryan will join the firm as a partner in the firm's Bankruptcy and Corporate Restructuring practice, focusing primarily on the representation of debtors.

“Jeremy brings valuable experience in a broad range of complex bankruptcy issues to our growing debtor bankruptcy practice,” said Potter Anderson's chairman, Donald J. Wolfe, Jr.  “His experience in transactional and litigation bankruptcy matters is particularly beneficial in this economic climate when we are seeing more and more debtor issues arise.”

Mr. Ryan works with clients in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, manufacturing, and retail, and guides them through the complexities of maintaining and improving business operations during the bankruptcy process.  He regularly counsels debtors and creditors on the sale and acquisition of companies through bankruptcy, debtor-in-possession financing, and plans of reorganization, as well as general finance, contract and employment matters.  His litigation experience involves both bankruptcy-specific and non-bankruptcy issues that arise during the restructuring process, including fraud and fiduciary duty claims, telecommunications disputes, and contract cases.

Mr. Ryan received his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.  Chambers USA 2009 named him one of “America’s Leading Lawyers in Bankruptcy.”  Mr. Ryan comes to Potter Anderson from Saul Ewing LLP in Wilmington, where he was a partner in the firm's bankruptcy and restructuring department.
