Girls, Inc. to Honor Potter Anderson’s Kathleen Furey McDonough with “Strong, Smart & Bold Award” Recognized as positive role model for Delaware’s girls and young women May 23, 2006
WILMINGTON, Del. – Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP is pleased to announce that partner Kathleen Furey McDonough is among the recipients of this year’s Girls, Inc. “Strong, Smart & Bold Award.” The award recognizes Delaware women for their personal and professional accomplishments and as positive role models for the state’s girls and young women.
“It is very gratifying and such an honor to be recognized by Girls, Inc.,” said Ms. McDonough. “The organization has done so much to provide girls and young women with the skills and the support they need to become the future leaders of our state. I look forward to my continuing service with them in aid of this important mission.”
McDonough, along with co-recipients, Ellen J. Kullman, Group Vice President for DuPont Safety and Protection, and The Honorable Chandlee Johnson Kuhn, Chief Judge, Family Court of Delaware, will be honored at a luncheon on June 8 at the Waterfront Banquet and Conference Center in Wilmington. Proceeds from this year’s 18th Annual Celebration Luncheon will help provide financial support for many of Girls, Inc.’s programs.
McDonough is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Delaware Community Foundation, serving as a member of that organization’s Executive Committee and a Chair of the Personnel Committee. In addition, McDonough is a member of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
McDonough is the founder and head of Potter Anderson’s Labor and Employment Practice, and represents management clients in all manner of labor and employment disputes. She counsels on all aspects of personnel policies and practices, with a strong emphasis on litigation avoidance.
