Please join Jennifer Gimler Brady, Kathleen Furey McDonough, Jesse Noa, Jennifer Penberthy Buckley and Clarissa Chenoweth-Shook for an in-depth discussion on the latest developments impacting employers today:

What employers need to know about mental health in the workplace
We’ll discuss the increasing need for employers to support the mental health and well-being of their employees and examine the challenges of managing leave requests and other accommodations.

Paid family and medical leave in Delaware
We’ll revisit the new Healthy Delaware Families Act, which provides Delaware workers with up to 12 weeks of paid leave for certain parental, family caregiving, and medical reasons. You will learn the latest developments regarding implementation of the new law.

Independent contractor or employee?
Proper classification of workers as employees or independent contractors can be a confusing exercise, and mistakes can expose employers to significant risks relating to taxes, employment law compliance, and employee benefit eligibility. We’ll discuss the sometimes-conflicting guidance provided by regulators regarding independent contractor status, including the US Department of Labor’s recently proposed rule entitled, "Employee or Independent Contractor Classification Under the Fair Labor Standards Act,” which seeks to clarify the legal standards governing independent contractor status under the FLSA.

On the horizon for 2023
We’ll discuss the potential reverberations of the mid-term elections on labor and employment initiatives and priorities. We’ll also address the future of restrictive covenants in view of the latest court decisions. Finally, we’ll highlight pending and proposed legislation that should be on employers’ radar screens.

At the conclusion of our seminar, we will celebrate the season with cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and networking.
