Shannon Discusses Litigation Preparation Strategies at 39th Annual Garrett Institute

At the 39th Annual Ray Garrett Jr. Corporate & Securities Law Institute in Chicago, partner Kevin Shannon joined a panel discussion titled “Preparing for Shareholder and Other Litigation.”

The panel discussed:

  • Document retention, note taking and communications outside the boardroom
  • Conflict and privilege issues with directors, financial advisors, and law firms
  • Discovery and Section 220 issues
  • Preparing an executive or director for testimony

Shannon practices primarily in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation, including substantial experience in litigating stockholder class, derivative and other actions in the Delaware Court of Chancery. He also has significant experience in litigating and providing advice regarding various proceedings under the Delaware General Corporation Law, such as actions for appraisal, indemnification, and dissolution. Kevin also has been involved in numerous cases involving partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies, and frequently counsels directors, stockholders, and other parties on their rights and obligations under Delaware law.
