Potter Anderson Announces New Partners, Counsel

Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP announced that, effective January 1, 2019, Tyler J. Leavengood and Michael P. Maxwell have been elected partners of the firm, and R. Stephen McNeill and Alan R. Silverstein have been promoted to counsel.

Leavengood, partner in the firm’s Corporate Litigation Group, focuses his practice primarily on corporate and commercial litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery, including litigating stockholder class and derivative actions, as well as actions for appraisal, indemnification, and inspection of books and records. He also has experience in counseling boards of directors and special board committees of Delaware corporations with respect to issues of fiduciary duty and internal corporate governance. Leavengood earned his J.D. from the University of Iowa College of Law and his B.S. from Texas A&M University.

Maxwell, partner in the firm’s Business Group, advises clients on matters of Delaware corporate and business law in transactions involving Delaware alternative entities and corporations, including investment and private equity fund transactions, fund formations, joint ventures, cross border transactions, mergers, acquisitions, asset sales and purchases, dissolutions and restructurings. He also represents both lenders and borrowers in a variety of commercial financing transactions, including asset-based financing, real estate mortgage financings and other credit related transactions. He earned his J.D. from Tulane Law School and his B.A. from the University of Louisville.

McNeill, counsel in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Restructuring Group, focuses his practice on complex bankruptcy proceedings involving national and regional clients, including debtors, secured lenders, creditors’ committees and a variety of unsecured creditors. Steve has been involved in contesting and defending asset sales and plans of reorganization, assumption and rejection of leases and contracts, and other creditor issues including defense of preference litigation. He earned his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law and his B.S. from Auburn University at Montgomery.

Silverstein, counsel in the firm’s IP Litigation Group, concentrates his practice on patent litigation, trademark litigation and intellectual property counseling, specializing in the chemical and computer arts fields. Alan has experience representing clients in both the Delaware Courts and federal courts around the country. He is experienced with large scale electronic discovery, managing scientific experts, and cost effective litigation strategies. He earned his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law and his B.S. from Ursinus College.
