Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP Partner Kevin R. Shannon Named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America

WILMINGTON, Del. – Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP is pleased to announce that Kevin R. Shannon, a partner in the firm’s Litigation group, was named a Fellow of the Litigation Counsel of America (LCA) and inducted into the organization at its fall conference.

The LCA is a trial lawyer honorary society comprised of less than one-half of one percent of American lawyers.  Fellows are selected based on effectiveness and accomplishments in litigation, both at the trial and appellate levels, and superior ethical reputation.  Membership is limited to 3,500 lawyers, and includes attorneys in private practice, in-house counsel and governmental attorneys.  Mr. Shannon is the third litigator from Potter Anderson & Corroon to be inducted into the LCA, joining Richard L. Horwitz and Peter J. Walsh, Jr.

Mr. Shannon practices in the areas of corporate and commercial litigation, and has substantial experience in litigating stockholder class and derivative actions in the Delaware Court of Chancery.  He also has significant experience in litigating and providing advice regarding various proceedings under the Delaware General Corporation Law, such as actions for appraisal, indemnification, and dissolution.  Mr. Shannon has been involved in numerous cases involving partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies, and frequently counsels directors, stockholders, and other parties on their rights and obligations under Delaware law. 

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Shannon served as an accountant for Deloitte, Haskins & Sells, and as a Financial Officer for J.P. Morgan & Company.  In light of his financial background, Mr. Shannon has been involved in numerous appraisal proceedings and other cases that address financial and accounting issues.  He also has advised special committees in connection with investigations of alleged wrongdoing, including accounting irregularities.

Mr. Shannon is a member of the firm's Executive Committee. He is a graduate of Widener University School of Law and received a B.S. from Villanova University.
