Potter Anderson Partners Weigh in on Uptick in Delaware Bankruptcy Litigation

Firm News

Bankruptcy partners Katie Good, Jeremy Ryan and Chris Samis were featured in a Delaware Business Times article about economic cycles and industry challenges driving bankruptcy caseloads.

Noting the 13% increase in bankruptcy cases filed between 2017 and 2018 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court District of Delaware, the article quotes Samis and Good on drivers of increased bankruptcy filings, including the effects of online shopping and off-market leases on traditional retail operations, changes in the energy sector, and cases driven by political pressure or other external factors.

The article also highlights the recent expansion of Potter Anderson’s bankruptcy practice. Good and Samis, along with associate Aaron Stulman, joined the firm in April 2019.
