September 16, 2017

At the 43rd Annual Meeting of the American College of Mortgage Attorneys (ACMA) in Asheville, North Carolina, partner Joy Barrist will participate in a panel titled “From the Ground Up – Selected Issues in Construction Lending.” She will discuss legal issues that are specific to construction lending, including hot-button issues in construction loan agreements; agreements with design professionals, bonding companies, and other third parties; construction disbursements and lien waivers; construction guaranty issues; and title underwriting and endorsements.

Formed in 1974, ACMA is comprised of more than 400 lawyers in North America who are knowledgeable and skilled in mortgage law. Fellows share a commitment to giving back to their profession, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate secured transactions, and raising the level of professionalism of lawyers practicing in this area.

Barrist is a fellow and also serves as the Delaware state chair of ACMA.
