Denny Moderates Panel on Data Privacy Basics for the Business Lawyer
Partner Bill Denny moderated an ABA panel titled “Data Privacy Basics for the Business Lawyer: Spotting Critical Issues.” The program offered practical tips and information to aid the general business law practitioner in spotting and handling data privacy issues raised by clients as they develop and distribute products and services. It included an overview of key U.S. federal and state data privacy laws and regulation. In addition, the program highlighted the impact of privacy laws and regulations from outside the U.S., particularly the GDPR (EU) and PIPEDA (Canada), in the context of analyzing a hypothetical client’s online business.
