Steele Discusses Fiduciary Duties of Corporate Boards and Their Historical Foundations

Partner Myron Steele participated in the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) From Battlefield to Boardroom event and spoke on a program, "Fiduciary Duties of Corporate Boards and Their Historical Foundations." The session explained why board members are legally obligated to act on behalf of an organization's shareholders to ensure that the company is properly managed and described the corporate laws to which boards are held accountable.

From Battlefield to Boardroom is an annual board development program hosted by the NACD to help prepare high-ranking retired and soon-to-retire military officers to serve in the boardroom. 

Steele is the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware. Previously, he served as a Judge of the Superior Court and a Vice Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery after 18 years in private litigation practice. He has presided over major corporate litigation and LLC and limited partner governance disputes, and writes frequently on issues of corporate document interpretation and corporate governance.
