Steele Weighs in on Governance Challenges During Distress and COVID-19

December 2, 2020

Myron Steele was a panelist for “Governance Challenges During Distress and in the Age of COVID-19,” a webcast discussion hosted by the American Law Institute Continuing Legal Education. In the current economic climate, it is more important than ever for boards and management to understand and prepare for these issues.

The panelists discussed:

  • Principles of corporate governance on a “clear day”
  • How governance may be affected by distress, and the effects of COVID-19
  • Actions boards can take to anticipate and deal with distress

Steele is the former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Delaware. Previously, he served as a Judge of the Superior Court and a Vice Chancellor of the Delaware Court of Chancery after 18 years in private litigation practice. He has presided over major corporate litigation and LLC and limited partner governance disputes, and he writes frequently on issues of corporate document interpretation and corporate governance.
