Potter Anderson & Corroon Chairman Named "Bet-the-Company Litigator of the Year" by Best Lawyers

October 1, 2010

Donald J. Wolfe Jr., chairman of Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP, has been named the “Wilmington, DE Bet-the-Company Litigator of the Year” for 2011 by Best Lawyers, among the most well-known and most respected peer-review publications in the legal profession.  Selecting recipients for the first time this year, Best Lawyers concentrated on high-profile practice areas in each city having a large legal community.  Only a single lawyer in each specialty received the designation of “Lawyer of the Year” for that community.

Wolfe, a partner in the firm’s Corporate Group, concentrates his practice on corporate litigation in the Court of Chancery and on advising boards of directors and special board committees of Delaware corporations with respect to issues of fiduciary duty and internal corporate governance.  He has acted as Delaware counsel in many of the most significant Delaware corporate cases of the past 35 years, representing and advising the boards of prominent companies such as Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Hewlett Packard, Intel Corporation, Google, Inc., The Walt Disney Company, Cablevision Systems Corporation and The Vanguard Group.

Best Lawyers compiles its annual lists of outstanding attorneys by conducting exhaustive peer-review surveys in which thousands of leading lawyers confidentially evaluate their professional peers. The 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America is based on more than 3.1 million detailed evaluations of lawyers by other lawyers.  Those lawyers being honored for 2011 as a “Lawyer of the Year” were selected based upon their receipt of noteworthy ratings in this year’s survey that demonstrated a high level of respect from their peers for their abilities, professionalism, and integrity.
