United Way of Delaware Presents Potter Anderson with Awards
The United Way of Delaware has awarded Potter Anderson & Corroon with a Christopher J. Battaglia Memorial Award and the Emerald Award for the 2009 campaign.
The Christopher J. Battaglia award is named after a lawyer who was well known for his dedication and community advocacy and is given to firms with the highest employee participation in the UWD Campaign. For 2009, 26 percent of Potter Anderson attorneys and 39 percent of total employees participated in UWD’s 2009 campaign.
The Emerald Award is given to the firm with the greatest number of Tocqueville Society donors. Members of the Tocqueville Society give $10,000 or more annually to UWD. Potter Anderson had eight Tocqueville donors for UWD’s 2009 Campaign, tying for first place.
Law firms play a vital role in UWD’s annual campaign, which supports the state’s most effective health and human service programs. The Attorney Division raised $625,960 for UWD’s 2009 Campaign, which helped UWD surpass its overall 2009 Campaign goal of $20.5 million.
