Potter Anderson & Corroon Secures Victory for DaimlerChrysler in Employment Suit
WILMINGTON, Del. – Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP is pleased to announce a jury has found for its client, DaimlerChrysler Corporation, in a racial discrimination suit brought by a former employee. The case, Wendy Miller v. DaimlerChrysler Corporation was heard in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware.
In its verdict, issued April 5, 2006, the jury found that the plaintiff had not proven that her race was a motivating or determinative factor in DaimlerChrysler’s decision to dismiss her. She had alleged that white employees were not terminated for similar actions that led to the firing of African-American workers.
“We are pleased by this result and that the jury has vindicated our client,” said Jennifer Gimler Brady, a partner with Potter Anderson and lead trial counsel to DaimlerChrysler. “We consistently maintained that our client acted appropriately in dismissing the plaintiff, and are gratified to see that was recognized by the jury.”
