At the fourth annual Deal Awards program hosted by The Deal, an $11 billion transaction on which Potter Anderson served as Delaware counsel was named Private Equity Deal of the Year (Large Cap). The award went to Thoma Bravo’s sale of Ellie Mae to Intercontinental Exchange (ICE).

Partners Michael Tumas and Mike Reilly served as Delaware counsel to ICE, the leading operator of global exchanges and clearing houses, in its agreement to acquire Ellie Mae, the leading cloud-based platform provider for the mortgage finance industry. The deal established ICE as the top provider of end-to-end electronic workflow solutions serving the evolving U.S. residential mortgage industry.

This deal is one of several on which Potter Anderson has advised ICE, including most recently the launch of Bakkt, a bitcoin futures market, and Bakkt’s 2021 merger with a SPAC.
