Martin Hailed for Commitment to Mentoring

In the article “Giving Them Wisdom,” Delaware Business Times highlighted the lifelong commitment to mentoring demonstrated by senior counsel and “powerhouse business patriarch” Josh Martin. The article focuses on Martin’s mentoring relationship with Dan Young, director of the Doctor of Business Administration program at Goldey-Beacom College, and how Young carried the lessons he learned as Martin’s mentee into serving as a mentor to Jordan Gonzalez, a then-student preparing to become an entrepreneur.

Martin and his wife, Cynthia Primo Martin, were noted for having a profound impact on Young’s success. The Martins were the 2019 recipients of the prestigious Josiah Marvel Cup Award from the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce. The award honors Delawareans who have made outstanding contributions to the state, community or society.

Martin is senior counsel at Potter Anderson where he concentrates his law practice on mediation and arbitration. Prior to joining the firm in 2005, he was president and CEO of Verizon Delaware. Before his corporate career, he served as a Delaware Superior Court Judge for eight years. A physicist by training, Martin began his legal career as a patent attorney for Hercules, Inc.
